Histoire

La paroisse Saint-Raymond-de-Pennafort a été érigée le 25 octobre 1944. Son territoire fut détaché de celui de la paroisse Saint-Joseph. Son nom rappelle la ville de Saint-Raymond, lieu de naissance de Mgr Alexandre Vachon, archevêque d’Ottawa au moment de l’érection de la paroisse1. Elle perd une partie de son territoire lors de l’érection des paroisses Saint-Benoît-Abbé en 1956 et Notre-Dame-de-la-Guadeloupe en 1960.

L’église a été construite en 19562. Elle a été bénie le 7 juillet 19573.

Le 1er janvier 2008, les paroisses Saint-Raymond-de-Pennafort, Notre-Dame-de-la-Guadeloupe et Saint-Pierre-Chanel fusionnent pour former la nouvelle paroisse Notre-Dame-de-l’Eau-Vive.
