Histoire

La paroisse St. Mark the Evangelist a été fondée en 1955 pour desservir les catholiques anglophones du secteur Aylmer de la ville de Gatineau.

L’église a été construite en 1957¹.

Le village d’Aylmer a été érigée en 1847 à partir du canton de Hull. Il devient la ville d’Aylmer en 1890. En 1975, la ville d’Aylmer, la municipalité de Lucerne et le village de Deschênes fusionnent pour former la ville de Lucerne. L’année suivante, la ville de Lucerne change de nom pour Aylmer avant d’être annexée à la ville de Gatineau en 2002².
